Guide estimate of plain-surface pool-boiling critical heat flux (CHF) at 1 atm for a current two-phase immersion fluid (Chemours Faizeon 500, formerly Opteon 2P50), from Zuber's correlation and the fluid's datasheet properties

~15–20 W/cm²derived

Value kindderived — Derived values are guide calculations; their result is only as fixed as the stated inputs, scope, and method.
ScopeA flat, plain (uncoated) heated surface in a saturated pool at atmospheric pressure. Enhanced boiling surfaces (porous coatings, finned boiler plates), subcooling and higher pressure raise CHF; the vendor's tested CHF for the actual surface governs. For scale, 1.2–1.4 kW from a Blackwell-class GPU, spread across ~16 cm² of compute die, works out to 75–90 W/cm²: a scaling estimate, not a measured die flux.
CaveatA guide calculation from a textbook correlation, not a measured value for any product.

SourceChemours, Faizeon 500 technical data sheet C-11871 (10/26); Guide CHF calculation (Zuber correlation). · Physical properties table: boiling point 48.9 °C, liquid density 1.456, heat of vaporization 115 kJ/kg, surface tension 0.011 N/m
DerivationZuber: q = C·hfg·ρv^0.5·[σ·g·(ρl−ρv)]^0.25 with hfg = 115 kJ/kg, ρl = 1,456 kg/m³, σ = 0.011 N/m (datasheet) and ρv ≈ 10 kg/m³ (ideal gas, C6H2F10, M ≈ 264 g/mol, 48.9 °C, 1 atm). C = 0.131 gives 16.8 W/cm²; C = 0.149 (Lienhard–Dhir) gives 19.2; ρv 8–12 spans 15–21.
